Microbiology is the field of medical science that studies microorganisms, which cause a variety of diseases in humans when they enter the body. Detection and identification of the type of infectious agent are crucial steps for its treatment. In the Department of Microbiology of the “Analysis” Laboratory, cultures of biological materials (fluids, secretions and tissues) are performed in order to develop, isolate and identify pathogenic bacteria and fungi, as well as control sensitivity to chemotherapy treatments. The methods applied in the department by the experienced staff of the laboratory, provide accurate and reliable results, offering the possibility of choosing the most appropriate therapeutic approach for the patient.
